I truly enjoy working in orthopaedic trauma, because it gives me the unique opportunity to follow a patient from the time they present to the ER with an acute orthopaedic-related trauma, through to surgery and eventual recovery. Since the recovery of such injuries often takes months, it gives me ample time to build respectful and trusted relationships between myself and the patient, which is one of the many important keys to successful patient care and fast recovery.
