Surgical Coordinator- PAT, LPN

The surgical coordinator is responsible for the timely and efficient scheduling of patients designated for surgical treatment by POA physicians. Primary work assignments include the coordination and scheduling of all preoperative, surgical and post-operative resources consistent with established POA patient care protocols and in compliance with surgical facility policies and procedures. The coordinator shall assure the timely completion and collection of all patient history, pre-operative testing results, insurance authorization and patient consent forms; and, communicate relevant findings to the patient, POA operating surgeon, and surgical facility scheduling/provider teams. Responsibilities shall also include optimizing the utilization of surgical block allocations by applying accurate case time estimates and minimizing case cancellations due to preventable errors.

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Critical thinking skills and a positive attitude essential.
  • High School Diploma
  • Prior medical office or hospital experience, two years preferred
  • LPN certification

Patient Services Representative – Salisbury, MD | Berlin, MD | Seaford, DE

POA is now hiring for Full Time Patient Service Representatives for our Salisbury, Berlin and Seaford DE offices.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work in the Salisbury office on days where satellite offices are closed.
  • The Patient Services Representative is responsible for greeting patients and gathering, verifying and entering all information into the EMR and PM systems on all incoming patients.
  • The qualified candidate will possess a High School diploma or equivalent and have excellent time management skills.
  • Experience is a clinic or hospital setting is a must.

Orthopaedic Assistant- ATC, CCMA, LPN

Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates is currently looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as an Orthopaedic Assistant (OA). The OA is responsible for providing direct patient care and assistance to the physician and provides support within the clinic as a patient/doctor liaison.

Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining confidential any and all information; including Protected Health Information (PHI), accessible while performing job duties. Additionally, the preferred candidate will stay in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, IT Policy, patient safety standards and all other POA requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Monitor physicians’ clinic schedule, anticipate patient’s needs to help physicians stay on schedule
  • Draw up injections
  • Remove staples/stitches
  • Apply/Remove casts/splints
  • Generate accurate and complete orders in EMR for diagnostic testing, prescriptions, referrals and DME
  • Follow clinic/patient care protocols
  • Evaluate patient needs and triage calls for level of urgency
  • Return patient calls in a timely manner
  • Perform accurate and complete patient chart documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have an Athletic Training License, Certified Medical Assistant, or LPN license with previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting. Orthopeadic experience is a plus, but not required.

DME Associate/Orthopaedic Assistant- ATC, CCMA, LPN

Job Responsibilities

Under the medical direction of the clinic Physician/PA/NP and general direction of Clinic Management, the Orthopaedic Assistant/DME Associate is responsible for escorting patients, obtaining, and documenting medical information, providing direct patient care and assistance to the physician/PA/NP. He/she also provides support within the clinic as a patient/provider liaison. Additionally, the qualified individual will fit DME products on patients and maintain a thorough knowledge of POA’s DME product library. The Orthopaedic Assistant/DME Associate will answer DME related questions for physicians, NPPs and patient questions with regards to DME products/education.

Qualifications

  • CCMA or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Allied Health such as Athletic Training, Exercise Sciences, or Kinesiology or Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Orthotic Fitter, or Certified Orthopaedic Technologist is preferred.
  • Utilizes excellent customer service including phone and communication skills.
  • Possesses solid interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and their family members, practice physicians and clinic team members.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Possesses knowledge of medical insurance carriers.
  • Possesses strong and orderly organization skills.
  • Multi-tasking ability and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrates ability to consistently meet deadlines and timely entry of DME paperwork.
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency with regards to data entry and utilizing various software programs for documentation. Familiar with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Sports Medicine Physician Assistant

We are a well-established, progressive and growing orthopaedic practice on the eastern shore of Maryland (near Ocean City) seeks to add PAs to our GROWING team.  Our PAs are an integral part of our orthopaedic team and have been with the practice for 20+ years. Competitive benefits package including health, dental, retirement, CME, licensure/dues, medical liability insurance, etc. Prefer applicant with 1-2 years of experience, but encourage new graduates with orthopaedic experience (e.g. PT, PTA, ATC) or strong interest in orthopaedics to apply.
