Bone Wellness Center

DOCTOR:
 Dr. Roe

Osteoporosis, or brittle bone disease, currently affects more than ten million Americans over the age of 50. There are multiple risk factors, including gender, height, weight, hereditary factors, smoking and alcohol habits, history of previous fractures, medications and more. Patients with osteoporosis experience the loss of bone mass and the destruction of bone tissue over time. This often results in the bones weakening and becoming brittle, making them much more susceptible to fracturing and breaking. The bones most at risk for this are the spine, wrists, hips and ankles. There are more than two million osteoporosis-related fractures each year in the United States.
