Dr. Frank Poole,
Founder of Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates in 1952
was the first orthopaedic surgeon on the Eastern
Shore. He received his Medical Degree from Duke
University in 1951. During his tenure as President
of Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates, Dr. Poole saw
his practice grow from a one man operation to a
five man practice at the time of his retirement
in 1979. The practice had grown to a six man orthopaedic
practice with 31 employees at the time of his death
on November 12, 1993.
