video James Trauger on partial knee replacement

James A. Trauger, MD
Joint Replacement, Hip and Knee

Dr. Trauger is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He specializes exclusively in joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee, and has replaced over 1,000 joints in just over a decade in practice. Under his umbrella specialty of joint replacement, he further specializes in partial knee replacements and minimally invasive techniques, which can help patients with active lifestyles to preserve their full range of motion.

While Dr. Trauger is inspired by the continually evolving technology of joint replacement, he also believes in taking his time with his patients. He is committed to getting to know each patient’s goals and expectations so that he can offer the most appropriate recommendations and advice for each individual.

Dr. Trauger received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his internship in general surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, and his residency in orthopaedic surgery at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York. His fellowship in orthopaedic surgery, total joint replacement and adult reconstruction was completed at the New Mexico Center for Joint Replacement Surgery in Albuquerque.
