Thomas A. Brandon, MD Chief, Division of Orthopaedics, Peninsula Regional Medical Center Dr. Brandon is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and reconstructive procedures of the shoulder and knee. He was one of the first surgeons to perform arthroscopic reconstruction of torn knee ligaments, minimally invasive knee replacements and arthroscopic repair of rotator cuff tears and shoulder dislocations. He was also the first surgeon on the Eastern Shore to offer the reverse total shoulder replacement procedure. In addition to being the President of Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates and Chief of Orthopaedics at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Dr. Brandon serves as an Orthopaedic Physician Consultant for the University of Maryland and the Medical Director of Athletic Training for Salisbury University. He is also a team physician for Wicomico County High Schools and the Delmarva Shorebirds. Dr. Brandon received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis. His internship was at Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he also completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Brandon has earned a Certificate of Added Qualification(CAQ) in Sports Medicine. This was conferred by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery after Dr. Brandon demonstrated that he has significant experience in the treatment of injuries in athletes and active individuals as well as completing the CAQ examination demonstrating advanced knowledge in the evaluation and treatment of athletic conditions.
