Physician Assistants

Physician Assistants play a major role at Peninsula Orthopaedics. Their specialized education, experience and skills earn them the position of mid level practitioners in office, surgery, emergency and hospital settings. Acting under a supervising physician, a physician assistant can autonomously see patients, conduct physical exams, order lab work, diagnose conditions and write prescriptions.

At POA, our Physician Assistants are true physician partners in your care. This team approach helps us be more responsive and accessible in treating your condition. While all our PA’s take call and are trained to cross cover each of our surgeons, we are working toward one on one assignment to further integrate our efforts.

You may see our Physician Assistants alone or with your surgeon during your visit. They help see patients in our office performing non invasive procedures, exams, injections, casting, and post operative evaluations. In the hospital they take call, and handle emergency and urgent care situations. They also provide an extra set of hands in assisting the surgeon in surgery and during the immediate recovery period.

Our Physician Assistants are an extension of our physicians. The importance of the correct diagnoses, proper treatment and close follow up demanded in our specialty continues to grow. We have a great deal of confidence in the men and women we have chosen to assist us. They are uniquely qualified to deliver the exaggerated care you not only expect—but deserve.
