Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges
Under the Federal No Surprises Act, health care providers and facilities are required to give patients with no insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the cost for anticipated medical items and services. If you are uninsured or a self-pay patient, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost for any non-emergency items or services. To comply, Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates will provide you with a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one (1) business day before your scheduled medical service or item. You can also request a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. The Good Faith Estimate will include information on how to dispute a bill if unreasonably in excess of the estimate provided.
